Current COVID-19 information

Welcome to Nuremberg!

Certain “basic protective measures” apply by law in some areas in the Free State of Bavaria, under the Federal Anti-Infection Act (IfSG) and the state’s 17th Anti-Infection Measures Regulation, last amended by the Regulation of 30 June 2022 (BayMBl. no. 400).

The essentials at a glance

  • All access rules (2G/3G) and the upper limits for event attendance have been repealed.
  • The requirement to wear FFP2 masks in closed rooms has been repealed.
  • General protective and hygienic measures still apply, including minimum social distancing and the recommendation to wear a surgical mask in indoor spaces, along with voluntary measures (channelling visitor streams, regular disinfection, etc.).

To make sure you can enjoy an untroubled, safe stay in Nuremberg, we encourage you to find out about the current rules and recommendations before you visit. You can find the full text of Bavaria’s 17th Anti-Infection Measures Regulation on the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and Care website (in German):

Moreover, the current German SARS-CoV-2 Occupational Safety Regulation provides that each employer must define measures for its employees’ individual work situations in a hazard assessment. That also applies to all events like conventions and conferences.

Note for your event at the NürnbergConvention Center:

NürnbergMesse has revised its protective measures for events on site to fit the current situation, and continues to offer a safe setting for your business with ventilation, more frequent cleaning, and disinfectant dispensers.
